Kentucky freshmen De’Aaron Fox and Bam Adebayo couldn’t hold back their emotions after Sunday’s heartbreaking 75-73 loss to North Carolina in the Elite Eight.
The Wildcats trailed for most of the contest, but fought back and tied the game in the final seconds on a Malik Monk triple.
However, Luke Maye answered for the Tar Heels with the game-winning basket on the other end of the court with only 0.3 seconds left on the clock, sending them to their second straight Final Four.
“All these guys like my brothers, I love ’em to death,” Adebayo said after collecting himself. “Especially Fox, he’s been my roommate since this thing started so that’s like blood to me. I just wish we would’ve won.”
